Tim McGraw Was Told Music Wasn't For Him While In Studio For First Project

Tim McGraw is set to go out on his first solo tour in 5 years this year The Here On Earth Tour. He'll be bringing along with him Midland and Ingrid Andress as special guests. McGraw stopped by The Bobby Bones Show talking all about the new tour and what life is like being married to Faith Hill.

After hearing her song "More Hearts Than Mine," McGraw said he had to get her on his tour with him. When he first heard the song, it "hit him in the gut" and immediately told Hill to look it up. They both agreed McGraw had to have her as an opener on tour, so he reached out right away before any other artist could. While this may be the first solo tour for McGraw in 5 years, he is no stranger to the road. He spent a few years touring with Faith Hill on their Soul2Soul World Tour. No matter how the tour is set up, McGraw said his time spent on the road is always the same. If they play an arena or stadium, he and his band spend the morning running the stairs. Then they all do Crossfit during the afternoon and somewhere in between McGraw likes to get in a good stretch.

Off the road, McGraw loves to go grocery shopping with his wife. He says they try to go one time and really pack up, often times ending up with "2 buggies of stuff." He's also is a big LSU fan and just recently performed before the college championship game between Clemson and LSU. He confessed that he wore an LSU jacket on stage because he didn't feel like he couldn't represent his team in that moment.

McGraw career has been widely successful with him being in the industry for over 20 years and always being at the top of his game, but some people never thought he'd make it there. While working on his first project, McGraw shared that the guy in the room thought that this career wasn't for him. That guy heard McGraw in studio and told him that on the spot. Fast forward a couple of years McGraw not only has a successful music career, but also an acting career. His first acting gig was on Jeff Foxworthy's show and confesses that acting is the most nerve-racking thing he's ever done. McGraw is focused on music right now, but he is still open to acting if the timing is right. He says he's always reading scripts and if he finds the right one at the right time in his life, he will go after it.
