Scotty’s Top Gun Maverick Review
Well last night after 3 years Stef and I finally got to see the new Top Gun Maverick movie.
IT WAS SO WORTH THE WAIT YOU GUYS!!!!
It’s funny, all day yesterday all I could think was, “new top gun tonight,” over and over I heard my little voice inside my head. At least I think only I’m hearing that, you don’t hear anything do you? Cool, then we should be good.
On a scale of 1-10, and keep in mind this is coming from someone who knows the original movie like the back of his hand. It was a 10 out of 10 for me, so well done!!
The story, the characters, the flashbacks, it was all about as perfect I could have hoped. Actually, that’s a lie, it was way better! For real, I was prepared to be disappointed.
You know the studio’s old, “hey it’s been almost 3 years, we need to make our money back on this this thing,” Memorial Day Weekend over pump up? Which has produced some real crapy disappointing movies over years past.
NOT THIS TIME KiDS!!!?
Being a diehard Star Wars fan taught me that to much “fan serving” in remakes or new installments of old school classics is death.
Top Gun Maverick didn’t treat the true fans that way. you could of never seen the first one or maybe only once in passing, and still enjoy and understand Maverick.
I know I said this just a second ago, but it was perfect. You know how I judge a sequel? I’ve always thought you just make another great movie, that’s it.
You try to out do yourself and make a “number 2” that’s better than the first. “Bad Boys 2” always comes to mind. That’s what been done here essentially. Nothing’s ever going to top the original Top Gun. My god the volleyball scene alone, right girl?? Wipe the drool off your chin please. Thank you.

If you love Top Gun, then Maverick will make you feel like a kid again and I promise you’ll be smiling when you walk out of the theater!
