Scotty Davis: “I’m Going To Miss You!”

Truthfully, I wanted to tell you about this on Monday.  Of course, and I should have known with my luck, I got sick as hell over the weekend.  ( I never get sick, not this kind of sick)

Yeah, my last week on the air at one of the greatest radio stations I could have ever dreamed of being a part of and I was down for the count!  It was a long 4 days, but my fever broke yesterday afternoon, and I’m back!

I know you’re thinking, “what in the f*** is he talking about?”  Well, after 6 years of having the honor (and that’s not ass kissing that’s real damn respect) of doing the afternoon show on 933 FLZ, I’m leaving the radio station.

The best part, and there is no bad part, is that my wife and I get to keep living on the beach!

I hope you know how much you’ve meant to me over the past 6 years, fam.  Thank you for being there every day during this journey.  We’ve become family and friends. You’ve adopted me as that smart ass older brother and all through 933 FLZ.  It’s way more than a radio station isn’t it?  Please know that you listening has made it all worth while.

I’m a guy from West Virgina, that had a dream.  Since I was in 5th grade, all I ever wanted to do was talk on the radio.  The best way to put it, is I never got this far in my dreams.

Starting on Monday, May 14th from 3-7pm my new home in Tampa Bay will be on US 1035, "Tampa Bay's Number One For New Country!"

It’s a pretty rare thing in life to be offered a “win-win” situation like this.  It’s even more rare (especially in this business) to work for people that truly value you.  I can honestly say I have both.  As one of my good friends told me last week, “you just hit the lottery!”

One things is for sure through this entire crazy-ass ride of my career, my wife Stefanie is by far the been the best part of it all.  We met on my first move away from home when I took a job in Amarillo.  God bless Texas!  That’s one of the truest statements ever made cause it blessed me with her.

Any time you make a change and take on a new challenge in life, there’s going to be some apprehensions.  The crazy thing about this decision to move to US 1035, there weren’t any.

I have made a lot positive changes in my life over the past year and half.  Joe Rogan says, “put yourself in uncomfortable situations, keep conquering them because that’s how you grow.”  To me, US 1035 is the next challenge, and you can bet your ass I’ll be running into it head first playing Zac Brown Band!!!
