I had a pretty fun weekend! It actually started on Thursday (does that count?) at the Florida Strawberry Festival where I got to bring Walker Hayes on stage--he was the NICEST guy! His whole family (yes, all 6 kids, the wife, and 3 dogs!) were with him. It was total pandemonium backstage, in the best kind of way. His show was really fun too.
Then on Friday night, we got to see Blake Shelton at Amalie Arena. It was my second time seeing Blake, but the first time I ever got to meet him. Y'all, he is the real deal. What you see on TV is not an act--he really is that funny, charming, and country as hell in real life. He's exactly who you hope he'll be if you get a chance to meet him in person. I had two specific favorite moments of the night: One was when my husband met Blake. He's a BIG Blake fan and I when I told Blake that, Blake didn't hesitate to give my husband a huge hug. It was so cute! My second favorite moment of the night was when Gwen Stefani came out to sing! She performed "Don't Speak," plus her two duets with Blake. I didn't get to meet her (I might've died if I did!), but I loved seeing the two of them together; they're so dang cute. I've loved Gwen since 7th grade, and I've always been afraid to meet her; they say you shouldn't meet your heroes because it might ruin the magic. I can't decide if I'd want to chance it or not (not that I got the chance on Friday, but you know what I mean).
Swipe to see Blake hugging my husband! (and ignore the "honky took" autocorrect fail...I didn't notice it changed "tonk" to "took" until after I posted and I couldn't edit! DANGIT!)
Then Saturday and Sunday were pretty chill...we had dinner at home with some friends (where I took no pictures), and then Sunday, a couple friends invited us to lunch on their boat (and I also took no pictures). It was nice to just chill! I've noticed that in my "radio life," I'm taking pictures all the time. In my "real life," I tend not to take a bunch of photos when I'm just living and enjoying the moment. So if you see me disappear from social media for a few days at a time...that's why! I'm just living without a phone in my hand!
How was your weekend? Do anything cool?
