You might have unclaimed money with the State. Here's how to find out:

Have you ever gotten a letter in the mail stating you had unclaimed property, but figured it was just a scam? There's a chance it might be legit! Florida's Chief Financial Officer, Jimmy Patronis, says there's currently about $2billion in property (aka: MONEY) being held by the state, waiting to be claimed by the rightful owners.

The money is mostly from dormant accounts at financial institutions, insurance and utility companies, and escrow accounts. There is also property like watches, coins, jewelry, etc.

Want to find out if any of your property is sitting there waiting for you to find it? The state of Florida has an official website for this unclaimed property, and you can search for free to see if you're on the list.

If a company ever reaches out to you saying you have to pay a fee to search, or to receive your money/items, it's a scam. Do not pay them. The property is already yours. The state will give it back to you at no cost.

HERE is the website. Happy hunting!
