Have you ever heard of "clear air lightning?" It's when lightning strikes on a clear day, when there isn't a storm overhead. Meteorologists say it's relatively rare, but it's exactly what happened over the weekend in Sebring.
A lightning strike was caught on a doorbell camera striking the ground outside a home in Highlands County on Sunday morning. A homeowner was outside watering plants, when lightning struck across the street. What made this so surprising is that, according to that homeowner, it wasn't raining at the time.
Fortunately no one was hurt, but the strike was caught on a doorbell camera. The yard briefly catches fire, there's a bright light and a big boom...it's pretty wild! And the man in the yard seemed relatively unfazed by the whole experience!
