What to do with your unwanted Gasparilla beads

You went to Gasparilla on Saturday, you partied like a pirate, and got a TON of beads! Now it's Monday morning and you're thinking, "What am I going to do with all of these?!" Recycle them!

The City of Tampa has multiple bead drop bins open now. When you drop off your unwanted beads, they're sanitized, repackaged, and used again for Gasparilla next year! Here are the locations:

  • Copeland Park Community Center, 1101 N. 15th Street
  • Kate Jackson Community Center, 831 S Rome Avenue
  • Loretta Ingraham Recreation Complex, 1611 N Hubert Avenue
  • MacDonald Training Center, 5420 W Cypress Street

These sites will be open through May 2022! More info can be found HERE.

In addition, the Florida Aquarium downtown has a bead exchange program. Bring in a 5-gallon bucket of beads (if you don't have enough to fill a bucket, see if you friends have any they want to get rid of) and you'll get half-off admission! This offer is good through February 5th. More on this offer can be found HERE.

Thanks for keeping Tampa Bay clean and beautiful!
