In case you didn't already know, I'm a big fan of Carrie Underwood. She's insanely talented, has great songs, and is gorgeous, charitable, intelligent, an entrepreneur, and just seems like a super cool lady.
Well, here's something you might not have known about Carrie: She is SUPER into horror movies. Like, REALLY into them.
I already knew Carrie was a fan of The Walking Dead, because she's posted about the show several times on social media, and has even been a panelist on Talking Dead--an after-show dedicated to (you guessed it!) talking about The Walking Dead. But I didn't realize she's also into horror and slasher movies.
Runaway June--who is currently opening for Carrie on the Cry Pretty Tour 360-- talked about their first rehearsal with Carrie, and dished on some things that may surprise you about Mrs. Underwood. For example, did you know she's really into hair metal from the 80s? Motley Crue is one of her favorite bands.
Carrie is also obsessed with gory horror movies... and that's what helped her bond with Runaway June, and Tae Dye from Maddie and Tae...they're ALL into that stuff!
"It was the first time that we were rehearsing for the show, and we still didn't really know her that well. She's a little shy, so she was just kind of standing in the corner, standing back," Hannah Mulholland [Runaway June] remembers. "I was talking to Tae, who also likes horror movies, because I love them. I was like, 'Oh, I watched Hereditary last night,' or something. And I just see Carrie [shift in her chair to listen to the conversation].
"I was like, 'Oh, I get you now,'" Mulholland adds with a laugh.
"It was hysterical," the group's Naomi Cooke chimes in. "She looks like a little Polly Pocket, but she loves to watch murder."
Underwood's no lightweight, Mulholland clarifies, and can watch even the gorier horror films. "I was like, 'Do you like ghost stuff or murder stuff?' She was like, 'Oh, murder stuff,'" Mulholland recounts.
OMG, quote of the day: SHE LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE POLLY POCKET BUT SHE LOVES TO WATCH MURDER.
I mean, COME ON. How can I not love her for that?!? I just really love when people aren't what you expect them to be. Carrie is so pretty and glamorous, so I LOVE that she's got a weirdo dark side. You don't expect it, and that's what makes it awesome.
