Sarasota Police Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in the 2900 block of Goodrich Avenue, Sarasota, at approximately 4am. Officers were dispatched to the area after the Sarasota County Fire Department (SCFD) reported being shot at during a call.
SCFD was dispatched to 2932 Goodrich Avenue, Sarasota, for an individual who had fallen. When SCFD arrived, they were told by the resident at the address that they did not call.
While returning to their ambulance, an unknown person, last seen wearing a hoodie, fired one shot at the ambulance.
Both paramedics were able to get back into the ambulance and drive away during which time several more shots, approximately 3 to 5, were fired at the ambulance. No one was injured. The unknown subject fled on foot and has not been located at this time.
