A new study from Purdue University says that beach vacations-- or any vacation where you're doing a lot of relaxing--are actually bad for you.
So how can relaxing in the sun and swimming in the ocean be bad for you? Apparently all that lying around doing nothing leads to boredom and anxiety -- and makes you think about work and all the things you need to do at home. The solution? Plan an action-packed vacation that keeps your mind and body as active as would be in your everyday life.
Don't get me wrong, I love planning adventures while I'm on vacation. I like to do things while I'm in a new place that I can't normally do while I'm at home. But I also like to sleep in and lie on the beach and sip margaritas and get a tan. You're trying to make me believe that relaxing is bad? No. Fake news.
