A couple of Michigan parents keep trying and trying to have a girl, but so far it’s been all boys -- 14 of them!
Jay and Kateri Schwandt welcomed their 14th son to the world on Wednesday. They chose not to find out the gender during the pregnancy, but after 13 boys, they had a pretty good idea what the baby would be, and of course they were right.
But Jan and Kateri really don't mind. In fact, they have a pretty good sense of humor about it as indicated by his name -- Finley Sheboygan. He's not actually named for the city in Wisconsin. They chose it because "she a boy again." The newest baby's older brothers range in age from two to 25.
I just can't understand why anyone would willingly have 14 children. I understand trying for a girl, but after 3 or 4 boys, wouldn't most people just give it up and say "Oh well, we've got a bunch of healthy kids, let's hang it up?" I can't even imagine. Makes me wonder what they do for a living to afford such a large family! I don't even want to know what they spend in groceries every month!
