I don't know a whole lot of people my age who have never been pulled over. Admittedly, I have a bit of a lead foot, and I've been pulled over a handful of times...even gotten a couple speeding tickets.
True story: I was pulled over one time for doing 84 PMH on the interstate, in a state where the speed limit was still 65 (for real, 65!). The officer asked why I was going so fast, and I said, "Officer, this car is like a bicycle, if you go too slow, it'll fall over." He laughed, and wrote me a ticket for a reduced fine. Hey, I still got the ticket, but at least it wasn't as bad as it could have been! Thanks, officer!
OOH! Another time, I was pulled over for speeding on I-75 near Riverview (I was doing 84 at that time too...notice a pattern?), and I couldn't find my registration. I knew it was in my car SOMEWHERE, but my center console was so disorganized that I couldn't find it. What I DID find was a box of Mike & Ikes, and I offered the trooper some candy while he waited for me to find my paperwork and get my life together. He laughed, and said that because I was cool (Me?? Cool??!) he'd let me go. That was awesome, and I'm still amazed I didn't get that ticket.
Anyway, this morning (Monday), Carrie Underwood was pulled over for the first time!
I have a feeling Carrie might have learned her lesson better than I did. After the "bicycle" incident, I have been pulled over 3 more times for speeding. I'm apparently not that smart.
