Darius Rucker is pitching in to build affordable homes near his hometown of Charleston, South Carolina!
He's teamed up with Habitat for Humanity and Ply Gem home building supplies to build homes in North Charleston. He was on site recently slinging a hammer on a home for Kenya, a single mother of two.
He says, “Kenya worked with Habitat for Humanity on four houses, more than 500 hours, as part of their program to become a homeowner. I feel so fortunate to be a small part of sharing her story.”
To qualify for a Habitat home, the candidate must be able to pay the mortgage, have a need for a home and put in 500 hours of sweat equity.
Awesome! I love that Darius is setting such a positive example of what it means to serve his community!
