According to the Daily Mail, we spend more time on the toilet than we do on exercise. Now, to be fair, this study was in the UK, not the US, but still. No wonder so many adults have trouble managing their weight---they're not moving around enough!
Adults clock up an average of three hours and nine minutes on the throne every week – but spend just 90 minutes a week being active.
More than a quarter (26%) of people exercise for 30 minutes or less each week and almost two-thirds (64%) sit down for at least six hours a day.
Eek! All that sitting is not only bad for your waistline, it's bad for your circulation and overall well-being. Even if you're not one to do a traditional workout (or don't have access to a gym), do yourself a favor and take a walk around the neighborhood today. Your body will thank you!
