I've always been something of a grammar Nazi, so this kind of thing is--to me--simultaneously funny and cringe-inducing.
In Kansas, an advertisement on a water tower was mistakenly painted with the words "Wichita Staty Universite." Yes, they misspelled two of the three words on the tower. And oddly, "Wichita," arguably the most difficult to spell of the three, was the one they got correct.
The mistake was corrected the same day it was made, but not before lots of people took photos of the gaffe and posted them to social media. Thanks, internet!
Hey, at least the City of Wichita had a good sense of humor about it!
