A boating mishap at a lake in California could have turned into a disaster if it weren’t for the quick thinking of a five-year-old boy.
Joshua Serna and his father, Benjamin, were riding a jet ski, towing Joshua’s mother and two small children on an inner tube.
The inner tube flipped and the kids fell into the water, so Benjamin hopped off the jet ski to help. It was a frantic sight with heads bobbing up and down in the water in a panic.
Joshua could tell there was trouble and, amazingly, was able to start the jet ski and drive it close enough for everyone to cling to it safely.
Joshua says he wasn’t scared and was very matter-of-fact about his heroic mission, explaining, “I pushed the red button, and I drove.”
Everyone is now recovering from the ordeal, and they all thank Joshua for saving them.
