Help is arriving for Palm Beach County residents who want to become first-time homebuyers.

The county's Department of Housing and Economic Development has announced the availability of State Housing Initiatives Partnership funds.

Income-eligible first-time homebuyers can apply for up to $100,000 to help in home acquisition, new construction, down payments and closing costs if the home is used as the applicant's primary residence.

The online application portal opens May 5th at noon and closes a minute before midnight on May 23rd.

Those interested must first attend a virtual orientation before submitting an application. There will be five of those, beginning April 15th.
