FLORIDA - A new nationwide study has revealed that Florida ranks among the top 10 most stressed states in the country for 2025.
The analysis, conducted by personal finance website WalletHub, evaluated all 50 states based on 40 different stress-related metrics.
These were grouped into four major categories: work-related stress, financial stress, family stress, and health and safety concerns.
The goal of the report was to help Americans understand where people experience the most day-to-day pressure—and potentially guide decisions on where to live for a less stressful life.
Florida came in at number nine overall, highlighting widespread stressors that impact millions of residents.
High housing costs, long commutes, and economic challenges contribute to the state’s elevated stress levels, along with health concerns and issues related to work-life balance.
The study also considered statistics like hours worked per week, access to mental health resources, divorce rates, and the percentage of adults sleeping fewer than seven hours per night.
States ranking higher than Florida on the stress scale included West Virginia, Louisiana, and Alabama, which took the top three spots.
Meanwhile, states like Utah, South Dakota, and Minnesota were found to have the lowest levels of stress.
While Florida remains a top destination for sunshine and tourism, this new report underscores some of the challenges that come with life in the Sunshine State.
As residents continue to navigate rising costs and pressures in daily life, the findings may offer a deeper look into the realities behind the palm trees and beaches.
