Judge Aileen Cannon Assigned to Ryan Routh's Assassination Attempt Case

Federal prosecutors formally charged Ryan Routh with the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump Tuesday.

Routh was arrested in Martin County after fleeing Trump's West Palm Beach Golf Course on September 15.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who dismissed a separate criminal case charging Trump with illegally possessing classified documents.

The 58-year-old was already facing two gun-related charges after authorities say he pointed a rifle through a fence at Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach Sept. 15.

Routh is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.

And Ryan Routh's son, Oran Routh, is facing federal charges in North Carolina for possession of child pornography, according to court records.

The son got caught up in the evidence seizure involving his father.

Investigators said the pornography was found on a Samsung Galaxy Note device located inside Oran Routh's primary bedroom in the residence, as well as another Galaxy Note device in Routh's possession.

"A review of the SD card located in Device-1 revealed that it contained hundreds of child pornography files," prosecutors wrote in the criminal complaint. "These files include videos from a known child pornography series created outside the state of North Carolina."
