LAND O' LAKES -- A Pasco County firefighter and his wife are recovering from a traffic crash in Hillsborough County... and mourning the loss of their five month old daughter.
Pasco Fire Rescue chief Scott Cassin says 23 year old Hunter Garcia has been released from St. Joseph's Hospital for his own injuries... but remains there to look after his injured wife Kayla, who suffered several fractures.
Their infant daughter Clara died of her injuries.
Hillsborough deputies say a car ran a stop sign and T-boned an SUV at Van Dyke Road and Brown Street Friday afternoon. The crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed.
Firefighters have been at the family's side and several have volunteered to work in Garcia's place. Firefighter Charities of Pasco has set up a Paypal account to take donations for the Garcia family... to pay for expenses and their child's funeral.
