Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb became the latest victim in a series of burglaries targeting professional athletes. On July 30, Lamb's home in Fairview, Texas, was burglarized while he was attending training camp in Oxnard, California. The burglar made off with over $300,000 worth of property, including four luxury bags, as reported by the New York Post.
According to NBC News, the Fairview Police Department stated that the burglar entered through a broken window. The incident was discovered on July 31 by a worker who noticed the damage and called 9-1-1. Currently, there are no suspects, and the investigation is ongoing.
Lamb, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, is not the first Cowboys player to face such a crime. Defensive tackle Linval Joseph's home was burglarized in 2024. The trend of targeting NFL players' homes has affected other athletes, including Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes and Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow, as noted by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The Cowboys returned to Frisco after spending nearly a month in Southern California for training camp. As authorities continue their investigation, the spate of burglaries targeting athletes remains a concern.
