Jo Dee Messina Mourns Loss Of Her Father, Shares Emotional Tribute

Jo Dee Messina is mourning the loss of her father. He was 94.

The country star, 55, opened up about the loss in a sweet video of him she shared on Instagram over the weekend. Vincent Messina was born on November 28, 1931, and he passed away on January 23, 2026. Messina wrote in her caption on Saturday (January 24), “we lost my Dad last night. It doesn't matter how old you are, it's never easy to lose a parent. So much more to his story…” Messina shared in text that appears over the clip, “he got so emotional and today, I can barely watch this … I love you, Daddy. Give Mom a hug for me.” Vincent Messina sat at a kitchen table singing, surrounded by loved ones.

Messina lost her mother, Mary Messina, in April 2020. The “Heads Carolina, Tails California” artist wrote in a tribute at that time, in part: “God knew exactly what he was doing when he made me my mother’s daughter. She loved me perfectly in a way that only she could do. She was my encouragement and she believed in me at times when no one else did. She understood the way I thought and she understood the way I felt. What a blessing she was to me, my entire life. ...I love you, Mama! I’ll see ya soon.”
