Kacey Musgraves shared a heartfelt ballad, “If The World Burns Down,” on the Nobody Wants This soundtrack. Both the album and the second season of the rom-com series arrived on Thursday (October 23).
Netflix states that the show “follows the relationship of unlikely couple Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody), an outspoken (and agnostic) podcaster and a kindhearted rabbi who fall in love despite the forces working against them. In Season 2, their relationship deepens as the duo attempts to blend their lives together.”
Musgraves’ latest song to release is her rendition of a country classic, lost highway, which legendary artist Hank Williams debuted in 1949. Musgraves’ version marked a sweet, full circle moment with her grandfather. This history-making Grammy winner teamed up with Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk to write “If The World Burns Down” for the Nobody Wants This Season 2 soundtrack: “If the world burns down/ Opens at the seams/ Well, I hope you know/ You were it for me/ If the way it goes/ Goes against our dreams/ If I never told you/ You were it for me.”
Other artists appearing on the genre-blending soundtrack include Chris Stapleton, Ella Langley, Selena Gomez, FINNEAS, Alessia Cara and more. Listen to “If The World Burns Down” here:
