The Tampa Bay Rays (64-67) blanked the Cleveland Guardians (64-66) 9-0 on Monday night in Cleveland to win their third straight game.
Junior Caminero went 4-for-5 with two home runs - his 38th and 39th - to key the Rays offense. Ian Seymour (2-0, 3.18) pitched five shutout innings to start the game and get the win - he allowed just one hit while striking out eight and walking one.
The Rays will now look to win the series against the Guardians when they meet in the second game on Tuesday night. First pitch Tuesday is scheduled for 6:40 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
