The Houston Astros (25-22) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (21-26) 4-3 on Monday night at Steinbrenner Field.
The Astros scored three runs in the second to take an early 3-0 lead. The Rays were able to rally back with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to tie the game 3-3. Jake Meyers hit a solo homer in the seventh to give the Astros the lead for good as they went on to win the game 4-3.
The Rays will look to bounce back in the middle game of the three-game series against the Astros coming up on Tuesday night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM - pregame coverage begins with Ronnie Lane hosting the Inside Pitch at 6:00 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
