Jason Aldean covered one of Luke Bryan’s biggest hits at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee.

Aldean took the stage at the legendary Mother Church to honor Bryan at the 17th ACM Honors. He performed “Someone Else Calling You Baby,” one of 11 tracks that appears on Bryan’s 2009 album, Doin’ My Thing. Other performers throughout the star-studded evening included Terri Clark, Keith Urban, Jackson Dean, Emmylou Harris and Lauren Alaina, Vince Gill and Ashley McBryde, Kameron Marlowe, Tyler Hubbard, Jamey Johnson, hosts Jordan Davis and Carly Pearce, and more. The show took place last moth and aired on Tuesday (September 24).

Bryan received the ACM Lifting Lives Award for his dedication “to improving lives through the power of music, has a generosity of spirit, and is committed to serving others,” per the Academy of Country Music’s definition of the award. Previous recipients include Lady A, Dolly Parton, Darius Rucker, Carrie Underwood and others.

Bryan, whose newest studio album is set to release on Friday (September 27), caught up with iHeartCountry on the ACM Honors red carpet, which ran through Robert’s Western World, one of the historic honky tonks on Lower Broadway in Nashville. He said at that time that he cherishes the success, blessings and health of his family, and it’s “a very special thing,” to help others, particularly while he’s on the road.

“It just seems like the right thing to do, and I think it’s what…the heart of country music is,” Bryan said. “The heart of country music is giving back and being good people.”
