Tigers Rally Past Rays To Take Series

The Detroit Tigers (14-10) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (12-13) 4-2 on Tuesday evening at Tropicana Field. Detroit has now won the first two games of the three-game series.

The Rays took a 2-1 lead in the sixth when Isaac Paredes hit a two-run homer. Detroit rallied in the eighth with a two-run bomb from Riley Greene before Mike Canha hit a solo shot to make it 4-2.

Ryan Pepiot had a solid start for the Rays, allowing one earned run on three hits in six innings which he struck out four and walked two. Colin Poche (0-1, 6.75) gave up the two homers in the eighth and took the loss.

The Rays now look to avoid being swept in the three game series on Wednesday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6:40 PM at Tropicana Field - pregame coverage begins with the Inside Pitch at 5:30 PM on 95.3 WDAE & AM 620, your Home of Rays Baseball.
