TALLAHASSEE -- Governor Ron DeSantis has ordered the Sunshine Skyway Bridge across Tampa Bay to be lit up in blue and white, the colors of Israel's national flag.
“The terrorist attacks carried out on Israel over the past few days are horrific and as Americans and as Floridians, we stand with the people of Israel in this trying time,” the governor said in a statement.
State Senator Nick DeCeglie says the lighting on the Skyway shows unwavering support for Israel and is a rejection of "the pernicious rise of antisemitism" worldwide.
The bridge will be lit in the colors of the Israeli flag all week to honor the victims and the nation as it fights back against Hamas and other terror organizations involved in the attack.
