Attorneys for Jeffrey Epstein confidante Ghislaine Maxwell have filed an official notice of appeal on her sex-trafficking conviction and 20-year prison sentence that was handed down by a federal judge last month. Maxwell's lawyer Bobbi Sternheim says her client has been unjustly prosecuted for the late money manager's crimes.
"Clever and cunning to the end. Jeffrey Epstein left Ghislane Maxwell holding the whole bag," said Sternheim.
A jury in December convicted Maxwell of helping Epstein abuse underage girls.
