Taking a drive to Fanning Springs will take you an hour or more from most areas in North Central Florida, Fanning Springs is a city in Gilchrist and Levy counties and back in the 1940s, Fanning Springs was a popular private spa and swimming resort, with a water slide and Ferris wheel.
Today, crowds often gather on hot summer days to enjoy the cool 72 degree spring water for swimming and snorkeling.
