The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority's buses will start driving on the shoulder on Sundays. They're following the lead of several other large metro areas in the US with their bus-on-shoulder program, that allows buses to remain on-schedule by avoiding traffic.
Starting Sunday, June 13, buses will drive on the shoulder of I-275 when the flow of traffic dips below 35 MPH. There are signs on I-275 in St Pete alerting drivers to this law.
