Coyote Sightings Becoming More Common Across South Florida

Coyote sightings are increasing across South Florida this spring. Zoo Miami's Ron McGill says it's because the medium-sized canines are more competitive and territorial during the breeding season. He says if you encounter one, don't be scared coyotes are not a threat to humans. But they are to small dogs and cats, so never leave your pets outside unattended. And if you spot a coyote, do not turn and run away because it will go after you if you entice it.
