Push Is On To Get Minorities Vaccinated In Florida

The push is on to get Florida's minority population vaccinated. Studies show White Floridians are about 2-and-a-half times more likely than Black residents to get a COVID-19 shot. State Senator Shevrin Jones and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz are holding a vaccination hesitancy Zoom meeting at 6 o'clock tonight to answer questions. The CDC says Black Floridians--- who make up about 17 percent of the state’s population-- now account for about 13 percent of the coronavirus cases and 16 percent of deaths. But Black residents account for less than 5 percent of vaccines administered.
