House votes to decriminalize marijuana at the Federal level

This afternoon, the House of Representatives passed a bill to decriminalize marijuana at the Federal level. As you probably know, several states have legalized marijuana for either medicinal or recreation use, but it is still considered a schedule-one substance according to the Federal government.

The bill passed in the House today, which removes marijuana from the Federal list of controlled substances, decriminalizes cannabis, and expunges nonviolent federal marijuana convictions. It will also create more employment and ownership opportunities in the marijuana industry.

Now that the bill has passed the House, it goes on to the Senate, which will likely vote on it after the new year.
