Florida's CFO Pushes For COVID-19 Liability Protections For Business Owners


Florida's Chief Financial Officer working on legislation to establish COVID liability protections for businesses struggling in this pandemic. Jimmy Patronis wants to take away incentives for lawyers engaging in “predatory ‘sue and settle’ tactics, and shield small businesses from liability for COVID-19 related claims. He says people need to come before attorneys' profits. 21 other states have already passed similar laws. Florida's legislative session begins in March.
