We've all seen them. Maybe you've done a few. Those cute Facebook quizzes like, "Do you have Royal blood?" Or "Who is the yin to your yang?" Turns out, most of them are created by Ukrainian hackers as a means to access your private information through Facebook.
I've always been skeptical of these things; it's nice to know my paranoia hasn't been completely unfounded.
According to CNN Business:
The alleged hackers improperly used a Facebook (FB)feature that helped them take control of users' internet browsers and gave them access to private information about Facebook users and their private friends' lists, Facebook alleged in a lawsuit filed in Northern California on Friday.
So next time you're bored and tempted to do one of these silly quizzes...DON'T. These hackers were caught, but there's no telling how many more are out there doing the same thing.
And on that note, stop filling out those questionnaires with information like, "first pet, favorite band, street you lived on as a kid, first job," etc. All of those answers provide hackers with information about potential passwords, which they can then use to gain access to more of your private info. Just keep scrolling!
