Tampa Mayor says Florida should prepare for "stay-at-home order"

Tampa mayor Jane Castor stated in an interview on Saturday that she would be surprised if a stay-at-home order didn't come in the next few days. Castor has urged Hillsborough County Commissioners to implement a stay-at-home order, and has urged Governor DeSantis to lock down the state. Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried has also written a letter to DeSantis urging a lockdown. Be aware that a lockdown could be issued sometime this week.

A stay-at-home order would require people to stay home except for necessary travel. Grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, banks, and doctors offices/hospitals would stay open. Restaurants that have been ordered to close their dining rooms could still offer take-out or delivery. Law enforcement would have the power to enact a curfew, but Mayor Castor hasn't said whether or not that would happen.
