Tampa Health Boss Calls Coronavirus Patient an Unsung Hero

TAMPA -- The director of the Tampa office of the state health department updates Hillsborough County commissioners on the Coronavirus.

Dr. Douglas Holt says they have two patients under isolation and six people being monitored.

Holt says contacts who are at a lower risk are "going about their business" but have been told to contact the health department if they come down with sniffles or other symptoms.

Dr. Holt says the first coronavirus patient, a woman in her 20s, is stable and he calls her an "unsung hero" for doing everything the health department told her and thereby limiting danger to the public. She apparently contracted the virus during a trip to Italy.
