Last weekend in Birmingham, Alabama--thanks to a scheduling error--a Waffle House employee named Ben was the only guy working the night shift. If you've ever been to a Waffle House right after all the bars close, you know how busy the graveyard shift can get!
But something special happened: when customers saw that Ben was on his own, they stepped up and helped! Customers were bussing tables, washing dishes, delivering food and stacking plates – all while Ben took orders and ran the grill.
A job situation that could have been a nightmare turned into a special night of cooperation -- a Waffle House miracle!
I waited tables for 10 years and I've never seen anything like that happen. Hats off to these wonderful people who stepped up to help Ben!
