Woman breaks into home, steals toilet paper

This isn't a Florida story, but it sure feels like one!

A 34-year-old North Carolina woman broke into an occupied home last week, cursing at the homeowner--who was home--the entire time, and then left with toilet paper. The homeowner called police, who caught up to the burglar near the home. The woman was charged with breaking and entering and felony larceny.

First of all, felony larceny? Doesn't the value of the stolen item have to be a little higher in order to constitute a felony? I mean, I'm not in law enforcement and I'm not a thief, so I'm not up on all my felony vs misdemeanor laws, so feel free to fact-check me on that, but is seems a little extreme.

Secondly, maybe if toilet paper wasn't so dang expensive, she wouldn't have felt the need to steal it, amiright??
