Mamas, you need a "mom-cation"

A new study has found that the average mother works 98 hours a week, between obligations on the job and at home. That's the equivalent of two full-time jobs AND overtime! And I have a feeling that most moms aren't getting the rest they need in order to recharge their batteries from all this work.

"Mom burnout" is a real thing, and experts say that self-care isn't optional for mothers! They recommend a "mom-cation"--basically, time away from your husband/partner and kids, so they can rest and recharge.

Mental health professionals say it doesn't matter if the moms take a solo trip or go away with girlfriends, it's just important that their children and husbands don't come! Because ladies, let's face it, if you're taking your husband and kids with you, you're doing just as much work to keep everything together as you would if you were at home!

Even an afternoon out without the kids, or a quick weekend trip is enough to do the trick, and experts say these opportunities to get away will not only be fun and relaxing, they'll make you a better mom and partner. Because you can't pour from an empty cup!
