I've always been told that is is dang near impossible to pry open an alligator's mouth because of how strong their jaw muscles are. Guess this guy has disproven the theory that it can't be done!
A Nokomis man heard a commotion in his back yard over the weekend, and rushed outside to see what was happening; he knew his dog was in the yard and wanted to be sure the pup was safe. When he rushed into the yard, the man found his labrador in the jaws of a 9-foot alligator!
Without hesitation, the man rushed to the gator and pried its jaws open, freeing the dog. Both the man and the dog were bitten in the process. The dog was taken to a veterinarian and is expected to be ok. The man's injuries are minor and he'll recover as well.
WOW. So glad they're both ok!
An officer with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission arrived at the home to trap the gator and move it to a non-residential area.
