This afternoon, I received an email from Buffy, who is on the committee for a charity fishing tournament in Palmetto called Hook 'em For Caleb. Caleb is a 14-year-old boy involved in a boating accident. He was hit in the head with an anchor, which required an expensive hospital stay, followed by physical therapy. He is currently doing well, however Caleb's family has incurred a lot of medical bills. He is recovering, but will likely continue to have physical limitations.
Since Caleb is an outdoorsman who loves to fish, and is active with 4H clubs, it is only fitting to hold a fishing tournament in his honor to help with his recovery efforts!
The tournament will be held on Saturday, August 17th at the Bradenton Yacht Club in Palmetto. There are multiple divisions, including a women's division, with prizes for top anglers! You can participate as an individual or as a team (maybe a good teambuilding outing for a group of coworkers!), and online registration is available.
You can also participate in the 50/50 raffle or silent auction, and food will be available to participants!

Thanks for helping Caleb with his recovery!
