Florida surfer gets bitten by shark, goes to the bar

A surfer in Jacksonville got bitten by a shark, then decided to get tanked -- by heading to a beachfront bar instead of an emergency room.

Frank O'Rourke says he was hanging 10 off Jacksonville Beach on Saturday when something knocked him off his board from behind. Before he could recover, the 23-year-old felt the shark's jaws clamp down on his elbow, opening a gash, but it let go when O'Rourke slammed it across the snout. (translation: dude punched a shark in the face and lived to tell about it)

Witnesses say the shark appeared to be a three- or four-foot spinner shark that quickly swam away. One of O'Rourke's surfer buddies says, "He immediately went to the bar, because he was like, 'Hey, I got bit by a shark. And people were like, 'I'll buy you drinks.' So he hung out at the pier."

WOW! Cheers! Glad that story ended well!
