A travel website called Far & Wide put together a list of the lamest tourist traps in each of the 50 states. Some of the attractions include "Santa's House" at the "North Pole" in Alaska (the actual North Pole isn't even located in Alaska, FYI), the "Full House" house in San Francisco, the Four Corners monument out west...that kind of thing.
But when I got to the entry for Florida, I got a little irritated. The attraction they chose as the WORST tourist trap in the Sunshine State is...
Weeki Wachee Springs State Park.
WHAT??!
COME ON. There's WAY worse stuff to do in Florida! How can you not like the springs, the wildlife, and the MERMAIDS! HELLO?!?! They have MERMAIDS! Not to mention the water park, the kayaking, and the nature shows!
I would like to speak on behalf of all of the Florida Natives and say that this list is bull crap. The folks at Far & Wide clearly have no idea what they're talking about. Weeki Wachee is a Florida staple!
