Granger Smith talks about the events that led to his son's passing

Granger Smith has shared an update on how his family is doing three weeks after the tragic drowning of their son, River. In the video, Granger shares details of what was happening on the family farm the night of the accident.

River knew how to swim, there was a gate around the pool, and Granger was less than 15 feet away at the time of the accident. Granger also says the whole thing was completely silent, and wants to warn parents that drowning can happen at any time, even with a child who is an experienced swimmer, and even with an adult close by.

PLEASE learn about water safety, especially if you have children or grandchildren. Drowning is NOT loud, splashy, and dramatic, the way it looks on TV. It is silent and fast, and can happen to anyone, in an instant.

THIS article teaches the signs of drowning, and lets you know what to look for. The facts will really surprise you. There is water all around us in Florida. Please be careful.

Our hearts are with Granger and his family in their time of grief.
