Woman left aboard empty plane in Canada

An Air Canada flight from Quebec to Toronto arrived on time last week, but no one told passenger Tiffani Adams.

Adams, who was flying home after a quick visit to see a friend, boarded the plane, opened a book and fell asleep. The plane arrived in Toronto and everyone got off -- except for Adams. She stayed asleep for another three hours only to wake up in a cold, dark and otherwise empty plane.

She tried to use her phone but it had died and she couldn't charge it because the plane was powered down. She managed to find her way to the front of the plane and open a cabin door. An airport worker saw her and brought over a ladder to help her down. The airline apologized and offered to put her up in a hotel for the night, but she just went home.

WOW. How in the world does that happen??! I've been woken up by a flight attendant to tell me that I needed to put my seatback up, how did they disembark without noticing a passenger was still snoozing away?? AirCanada says they are in contact with the passenger, and are investigating the event.
