I don't know about y'all, but the second I get home, my shoes come off. Even if I'm in super comfortable shoes, I don't want to wear them in my house. My husband, on the other hand, is one of those weirdos who wears shoes ALL. THE. TIME. Literally, if he's awake, he has shoes on, and I think it's the strangest thing. He'll wake up in the morning, and before he even puts on a shirt, he's wearing shoes. IT'S WEIRD.
Well, not only is it weird, it's gross. REALLY GROSS. According to research at the University of Arizona, bacteria was found on the bottoms of 97% of shoes tested. Basically, you walk around all day, your shoes collect ALL THE GERMS, and then when you get home, you need to take those shoes off, otherwise, you're just spreading those germs around your home.
What kind of germs, you ask? Bacteria that cause intestine and urinary tract infections, meningitis, pneumonia, and respiratory issues. Public/shared restrooms are the dirties places, and a lot of people are picking up fecal matter, and carrying it on the bottoms of their shoes.
Do you want other people's fecal matter tracked all over the inside of your home? OF COURSE YOU DON'T. So take your shoes off at the door!
