A veterinarian in Washington is issuing a warning to pet owners about walking their dogs on hot pavement, after treating a doggo with severely burned paws.... this didn't even happen in Florida, where we KNOW it's hotter than it is in Washington!
When you walk your dog, be sure you are in an area where your pup can get on the grass or in the dirt, because the pavement gets SO HOT in the summer sun. It may seem like a no-brainer to some people, but please be aware that if the pavement is too hot for *your* bare feet, it's also too hot for your dog's paws.
Even on a nice day, the pavement temperature could be much hotter than the air temperature. Look at the paws on the poor pup below... he was walking on pavement for over a MILE before his owner realized that his paws were burning!
