If you’re lucky enough to make it to 100, you should get what you want for your birthday and one World War II veteran has a simple wish for his: to get 100 birthday cards. Joe Cuba’s photo has gone viral after the image of him holding a sign with the request was shared online.
Cuba is a World War II veteran living at Brookdale Senior Living Solutions in Wichita Falls and he'll be celebrating 100 years of life on March 2. Cuba grew up in Megargel, Texas and is one of 12 children.
Cuba married in 1943 before enlisting in the Army Air Corps to defend this nation and then came home to Texoma.
After 100 years on Earth, the vet says he’s thankful for his health and he’s also happy to share the words of wisdom he lives by. “Just keep on trucking. When you like to do something, do it,” Joe says. "Stay with something and you'll get ahead. You'll be okay.”
